A multi-media art installation for Magnaball, a 3-day Phish Festival in Watkins Glen, NY, summer 2015.
The Memory Lab imagined an eccentric scientist's deserted laboratory, mid-experimentation. The scientist was seeking a way to capture a memory as a "whole message" or a hologram. Festival visitors stumbled into a lab filled with vintage optical equipment, oscilloscopes, kitsch snow globes, and something called a "Memory Transporter." Visitors peered into the "Transporter" where their images were unwittingly sent next door via live projection to a human-size snow globe as "holograms." The Memory Lab was an investigation into what it means to share a memory fully and whether or not that's really possible.
